活力南洋丨Keppel Station & Tunnels Project Team
The warm and vibrant on-going Keppel MRT Station is situated in the Keppel Road along Tanjong Pagar Sub-Zone of the Bukit Merah Planning Area within Singapore's Central Region. The location has a rich history of mangrove swamps and mudflats that stretches from Tanjong Pagar to Telok Blangah.
Derived from history the road was named after a Captain later became an Admiral by the name of Sir Henry Keppel of United Kingdom Royal Navy.
The Keppel MRT Station is under LTA's Circle Line 6 project that comprises a 4 kilometre rail with three Stations closing the loop connecting Harbour Front Station to Marina Bay Station.
The project was awarded to CSCEC on September 2017 and since then the construction flourished and sustained its momentum despite the growing challenge brought by the pandemic.
The project has gained numerous Safety Recognitions from Land Transport Authority and have been recently rank finalist in the Safety Excellence Award 2022 under Civil Contractor (Mega).
The project has also applied advance digital aid technology by using BIM to address not only construction method but also safety awareness, simply involved planning and displaying the risk involve in every construction stages and sequence.
The project is expected to complete in Year 2025, commuters will enjoy the new connections and direct route in areas like the west Pasir Panjang and easy access to CBD like Marina Bay.
Another achievement for the Nation Building towards the future journey of Singapore.
